Golden Cloud
Five feet across, and the most cinematic thing Juvonen has here. A mass of cumulus catches low gold light at its upper edges while its underside stays violet-grey, and beneath it a dark island sits on still water with a scatter of shore lights along its foot. Those lights are the only mark of anything human in his weather paintings and they are perhaps four strokes long. The cloud is worked far more thickly than the water, which is left almost flat.
