Orange Sunset
A single cumulus mass, grey-white and softly built, sits above a dark horizon with a narrow band of warm orange along it. That band is perhaps a quarter inch of paint and it is the entire event. At twenty by sixteen this is one of Juvonen's small studies, and the small format suits the subject — there is only one idea here and it does not need a wall. The cloud is worked wet into wet with no drawn edge anywhere.
