Abundant Life
Two birdhouses on poles rise through a field of red and gold flowers, with small birds at the entrances and dragonflies overhead. Twenty-four by twelve inches. The ground is scratched and incised as much as painted — Schreivogl works into her acrylic surfaces with the end of the brush, so line and colour arrive by different means. Her surname means screeching bird in German, and birds find their way into almost everything she makes.
