Painted on location: a stream running out of snow between dark firs, the banks still deep in drift, the water carrying blue shadow and a scatter of white. Fifteen by nineteen inches. The snow is left as bare or near-bare support in places, which is the fastest possible way to paint it and only available to someone confident enough not to go back over it.
