Docked At Eagle Harbor

Jane Wallis

Working boats at their moorings, masts crossing, hulls doubled in still water. Twelve inches square. Wallis paints the rigging as a few decisive dark strokes and lets them stand for the whole tangle of it. Eagle Harbor is the Bainbridge ferry harbour, and these are the boats that live there rather than the ferry that visits it.
