I made this at night, in my mind and on the plate — the moon holding its place above the treeline, that pale band of shore or snow quieting everything beneath it. This is the respite I keep returning to: the world simplified to dark water, silhouetted firs, and one steady light. I want to leave a record of these moments, the ones that restore us.
