Natural Habitat
Dense blocks of sap green, cobalt and ochre fill the canvas edge to edge with no ground visible anywhere and no single form allowed to lead. Juvonen builds it thickly and lets the colours stay separate rather than blending at the joins. Of his abstracts this is the one whose palette most obviously belongs to a landscape, and the one that most firmly refuses to become one.
