The Night Embraces Everything
Thirty by forty inches. A night garden at full scale: white and gold seed heads, rust tulips and pale umbels against a near-black ground, with a large moon at the upper right. Ferron builds her dark grounds first and cuts the light shapes to sit on them, which is the reverse of how a painter would reach the same image and is why every pale form has a crisp edge.
