Angel of Conception
An almond-shaped body — the mandorla of religious painting — filled with red, green and blue fragments and split by a vertical bar carrying a single gold disc high on its length. The form is unmistakably an enclosure with something at the top of it, and Fisher lets the geometry make the point without a figure anywhere. Of the three Angels this is the most symmetrical and the most obviously derived from altarpiece structure.
