I work worn surfaces and distressed textures into something soft and familiar — here, white blooms scatter across a blush ground that carries the patina of time, layered with gold at the borders and dark smudges pressed beneath the petals. Then I bring in the unexpected: red flecks and gestural strokes that push through the quiet, the modern note interrupting the timeworn. Gentle old meets dynamic new, and somewhere in that tension a resting place for the eye emerges. Antiqued fresco on birch panel · 12 × 12 × 2 in · 2025
