Mixed media on salvaged cedar. Dark charcoal cedar base with horizontal grain throughout. Concentric circles in pale mint, mustard yellow, burnt orange, and cream build toward the center; the innermost circles carry black textured discs with dotted surface patterns — a painted layer over carved wood over ancient growth rings. The Cancellation Myth series addresses McConnell’s core themes: identity and difference held in a single formal system.
