Eagle Harbor Docking

Jane Wallis

Two tugs manoeuvring, orange wheelhouse against slate water, with the far shore reduced to a dark band. Twelve by sixteen. The orange is the only warm note in the picture and it is placed exactly at the centre of interest. Wallis paints working craft more often than pleasure boats and paints them as machinery rather than as scenery.
