In Golden Fields Blue Barn Crescent Moon
A blue barn on the horizon under a grey sky and a fine crescent, over a field worked in ochre and old gold with flecks of magenta and cobalt struck through it. The field is the busiest surface in her catalogue — dab on dab, no passage left flat — and the sky above it the quietest. She lets the two meet along a hard unbroken horizon with no transition of any kind, which is why the barn reads as standing on the edge of something rather than in the middle of it.
