Inside Outside (Bowl)
Mixed media — salvaged wood, carving, and textile. A rectangular dark wood base with linear incisions across the surface; an elliptical cavity carved into the upper face reveals smooth burnt sienna interior. A small green crocheted turtle with turquoise felt flippers sits in the carved bowl. The combination is McConnell at his most open: the hard material and the soft one, the ancient wood and the handmade object, placed in conversation.
