A wide horizontal panel where Abaté has pushed the encaustic to its quieter extreme — controlled passes of the torch producing a surface that suggests meadow or water without specifying either. The layers beneath are legible through the upper ones; earlier colors surface at the edges where the build is thinner. Encaustic on wood panel, 60 × 30 inches.
