Oil on canvas — impasto. A raven in flight moves leftward — deep ultramarine and black, impasto wing texture suggesting individual feathers. Cadmium yellow-green and viridian foliage with burnt sienna and alizarin autumn accents fill the right side. The raven’s diagonal trajectory crosses the vertical tree structure — that crossing is the formal tension of the painting. Currier’s most direct bird composition. Works in this range collect quickly.
