Abaté’s largest panel in the Additions exhibition — 65 × 30 inches of encaustic on wood panel where the accumulated wax reads as atmosphere rather than surface. Thirty layers of beeswax, damar resin, and pigment, each fused with the torch before the next arrives. The warm tones cross the panel’s length without resolving; the finish holds translucency and weight simultaneously. At this scale the medium becomes environmental.
