An encaustic panel where the vertical movement comes not from composition but from material: the wax carries upward through layers of pale blue and white, the heat-driven passes pulling colour through itself. Abaté lives beneath open skies in north central Washington; panels oriented this direction feel like a natural consequence of the place.
