Acrylic on wood panel creates a brittle surface where autumnal reds and yellows sit atop dark underpainting. Ferron applies pigment thinly in places, densely in others, producing an effect of botanical compression—flowers that seem pressed by time itself.
Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel. Against a dark raw umber wood-grain ground, stylized flowers in cerulean, cadmium yellow, burnt sienna, and coral occupy the composition. Hard-edged petals radiate geometrically from central discs; olive and sage green stems rise vertically. The wood grain shows through — the substrate is part of the surface.
