Layered panels and painted forms establish a shallow pictorial space where erasure—through overpainting and material obscuring—generates visual friction. Myth operates as structural problem, not narrative.
Mixed media on salvaged cedar. Cedar plank grain visible in the upper third in warm orange-brown; the lower section stained dark charcoal. Concentric circles: lime green outer ring, cream and white bands, black stippled middle ring, pale center. The two cedar tones — raw above, finished below — are not painted over but left as found: McConnell’s construction background means he reads wood before he marks it. $3,500. International shipping available.
