Ecopoxy on grained fir establishes a gloss skin over wood’s linear texture. McConnell treats the panel surface as field where painted marks negotiate with the substrate’s directional pull.
Mixed media on salvaged cedar. Square dark-stained cedar, vertical grain. Concentric circles recede inward: charcoal outer ring, sage green middle, cerulean blue center disk with white dots arranged in a regular pattern.
