Three discrete ceramic and resin elements occupy space independently. McConnell’s sculptural sequence uses material transitions—wood to clay to synthetic resin—as structural logic rather than symbolic content.
Mixed media on salvaged cedar. A vertical cedar panel carrying three stacked circles: turquoise and cream-yellow at top, cream with teal center and scattered dots in the middle, pale lime-green with dotted pattern at bottom. Three states, one material. McConnell studied with poet Robert Sund at Fairhaven College — the title’s transition language (Ending, Neutral Zone, New Beginning) reflects that literary formation. The wood holds all three simultaneously. $2,500. International shipping available.
