A bear in acid green crosses a field of scarlet, ochre and violet, its head lowered, the ground behind scattered with small drawn marks and collaged fragments. The colour is entirely unnatural and the posture entirely accurate. She has written about the frisson of the moment when a human and a wild animal glimpse one another, and the work is an expression of that frozen moment rather than of the animal alone
