Ancient Scroll
A pale ground of cream and bone carries thin drawn lines, small circles and hooked marks spaced across it like faded writing on a surface that has been rubbed. Almost nothing is painted thickly; the interest is in the drawing and in how much bare ground is left. Of Juvonen's glyph paintings this is the most convincingly archaeological — it looks less made than found.
