Autumnal Blooms
Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel. Against a dark raw umber wood-grain ground, stylized flowers in cerulean, cadmium yellow, burnt sienna, and coral occupy the composition. Hard-edged petals radiate geometrically from central discs; olive and sage green stems rise vertically. The wood grain shows through — the substrate is part of the surface. Ferron’s quilting background is most visible in these flower works: each shape cut to fit, each color a decision.
