Beach Walk
A narrow column nearly six feet tall, cast from cement with sea glass and found objects gathered on the Salish coast set into its surface, and a small figure standing at the top. The plinth is not a base for the sculpture; it is the sculpture, and the figure is almost incidental at that height. Everything in it was picked up from a beach. Mann's statement talks about using materials for their inherent qualities, and cement holding beach glass is exactly that bargain.
