I build the surface layer by layer — worn textures and distressed grounds carrying the weight of time — then let a wash of aqua sweep through, cool and unexpected against the deep reds and magentas of poppies and pomegranate forms. A lone dark bird rests at the center of it all, flanked by hydrangea clusters and blue butterflies, while a small gilded corner holds its own quiet motif. Worn surfaces and distressed textures combine to create something soft and familiar; then comes the bold, modern note — and something reinvented emerges.
