I work into worn, layered surfaces — and here the ground burns deep crimson, like velvet warmed by candlelight, aged and rich with time. Two long-tailed birds rest among pink and white blossoms on dark branching stems, while amber-framed butterflies flicker in the upper corner; then the bold modern stroke arrives in those flanking panels — patterned, unexpected, dynamic. Worn surfaces and distressed textures combine into something soft and familiar, and something reinvented: gentle old meets dynamic new.
