Eternity #102
Five feet across and twenty-six inches high — a long horizontal of stacked, tilted buildings in emerald, cadmium yellow and striped coral against wide fields of pale grey. Nothing is plumb. Parasnis builds the geometry first and then, in his words, balances and creates harmony with the paint: the drips, the thick and thin, the bright colours against the mundane. There are windows and doorways and no people in any of them, which is deliberate — he has said that characters make everything too literal. The energy of the place is carried entirely by the angles.
