I build my surfaces the way time builds its own — worn, layered, weighted with the patina of another era — and then I interrupt all of that quiet age with something unexpected. Here, cherry blossoms rise from a small vessel against a deep teal ground, the whole composition anchored by Hugo's gold-lettered words: La vie est une fleur, dont l'amour est le miel. Worn surfaces and distressed textures combine into something soft and familiar; then the metallic, framed inset arrives as the bold, modern note — gentle old meets dynamic new.
