Mixed media collage. Ferron layers topographic maps and aerial imagery with cerulean and prussian blue watercolor washes; cut-paper mountain silhouettes in raw umber and ochre rise above the cartographic ground. Maps have been a recurring material in her practice since the MapScapes series — not as decoration but as substrate, layered beneath painted and cut forms. Navigation as literal fact, then visual field.
