Purple Dusk with Beautiful Barn
Deep blue-violet fills the upper two thirds with a fine crescent moon set high, and beneath the horizon a band of acid green field is worked in short bright dabs. The barn is small, blue-roofed and dead centre. This is the strongest colour contrast in her catalogue — violet against that green is nearly a clash — and she holds it together by keeping the sky perfectly smooth and letting only the field carry texture.
