Succession
A turquoise ground carries rectangles and ovals in cadmium yellow, cobalt and magenta, arranged loosely in rows that drift out of alignment as they cross the canvas. That drift is the subject: the forms are similar enough to read as repetitions and different enough to read as changes. Juvonen outlines several of them in dark blue and leaves others bare, so the sequence never settles into a grid.
