I work into the unknown with each layer — beeswax, damar resin, and pigment fused with the torch, and the heat decides where the white settles against the aqua, where it pools thick or thins to near-transparency. I'm always adding new layers, yet reaching down to excavate what's already there — smoothing out the high points, revealing what the wax has held. Encaustic on cradled wood panel. 6 × 18 in. 2026.
