The Night Embraces Everything
Mixed media collage. Ferron builds a dark navy ground and cuts botanical forms in layers above it: orange and coral flowers at the composition’s base, pale pink circular blooms, white star-shaped blossoms, golden-yellow geometric heads throughout. Hard-edged — scissors and X-acto knives, not a brush. The shapes read like Rousseau’s jungle: each plant individual, specific, pressed into an impossible togetherness. Ferron’s quilting background is visible in how the pieces fit.
