Waiting For The World To Turn (The Glistening)

Amy Ferron

A moonlit meadow: a large silver-leafed moon sits high against a soft grey-green ground, with white dots of snow or seed falling through it, and beneath, a dense border of cut grasses, tulip forms and dotted seed pods in olive, cream and scarlet. Fourteen by eleven inches. Two orange-red daisies flank the moon at the top corners and a pale moth hangs at the centre. The moon is the only metallic passage and it is smooth where everything else is cut edge.
