Mt Shuksan From Artist’s Point
Shuksan seen from Artist Point, the peak in violet and white above a dark green foreground. Twenty-four by thirty inches — the largest of her mountain pictures. She makes no attempt to avoid the cliche of the most photographed viewpoint in the North Cascades and paints it straight, which given how many people have stood in that spot is the braver option. The snow carries almost all the value range and the foreground is nearly black.
